A continuous flow liquid propellant strand burner for high pressure monopropellant and bipropellant combustion studies

چکیده

A combustion assembly capable of continuously burning monopropellant and bipropellant liquid fuels at pressures up to 80 bars (1145 psig) was designed constructed. The is based on a propellant strand burner where manifold maintains small positive differential the fuel maintain steady supply into reaction vessel. Optical ports enable direct visualization flame will allow for future spectroscopic imaging studies flame. design tested using nitromethane with both air inert environments in Continuous sustained almost 8 min (34 bars/500 more than 6 N2 (70 bars/1000 psig). unique outcome from initial testing this device ability ignite an environment without use pilot started air.
